The increasing depth of segmentation justifies more and more return path optical receivers at the headend. Since the space is limited in a rack, COMTECH has developed the QROR optical to RF converter with 4 channels to provide improved receiver density. The channels can be used independently or can form 2 redundant channel pairs. The automatic gain control can be switched off in order to serve burst mode RFoG networks, while using the Fiber Deep option a single rack will be able to receive even 384 reverse path channels, which are rendered into 48 separate segments.
The device provides the standard COMTECH local management interface and a programmable RF testpoint on the frontal surface.
